About Me
Hey there! I’m Alex (she/her), a UK-based theatre director, intimacy director/coordinator, writer, and acting tutor.
I love telling adventurous stories that amplify the experiences of women and queer folx. After my secret mission to incorporate a dinosaur into all of my projects was discovered, I founded T. Regina Theatre Co* with the goal of making "chewy theatre for chewy humans."
I have produced and directed three productions under T. Regina: Scenes with girls by Miriam Battye (Golden Goose Theatre), My Name is Rachel Corrie by Rachel Corrie, Alan Rickman, and Katherine Viner (Palestine House & Etcetera Theatre), and Late, A Cowboy Song by Sarah Ruhl (Hen and Chickens Theatre), in addition to an R&D of a new play, Tourist in a Dream by James Robertson.
Other recent credits include Merchant of Venice 1936 (Trafalgar Theatre, West End, Assistant Director on placement), Gruesome Playground Injuries by Rajiv Josephs (Golden Goose Theatre), Julia Caeser and Macbeth (East 15 Acting School, Southend-on-Sea).
Originally from Wenatchee, WA, USA and currently based in London, my theatrical adventures have taken me to Chicago, DC, Ohio, New Hampshire, El Salvador, Poland and Indonesia. I am the creator of Out There (2022, Andy's Summer Playhouse) and the co-creator of Poetry and Prose (2019, Whitworth University), two original musicals.
I hold an MFA in Theatre Directing from East 15 Acting School in London, where I am now an acting tutor. I completed my BA in Theatre from Whitworth University. As an intimacy professional, I have trained with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC) and Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE). I am committed to using antiracist, consent based, and trauma-informed practices in my rehearsals and classrooms.
When not in rehearsal, you can find me wandering bookstores, snacking on dill pickles, or locating the nearest cat for a snuggle. Free Palestine.
